Study Procedure

Who took part in ReCAPS?

Participants were people who experienced:

- one stroke

- some upper limb weakness after the stroke

We also included adults who have not had a stoke in the study

Participants attended up to 2 study sessions.

During each session participants completed arm and hand movements to measure how well recovered they were.

We then recorded signals traveling between the brain and the hand affected by the stroke.

Non-invasive brain stimulation was also applied during the study.

We recorded whether stimulation changed the signals traveling between the brain and the hand.

Some participants needed to have an MRI scan before taking part in the study.
